The Land Of Virtuosity is the brainchild of it's founder, Laralee List and was created to . . .

The Land Of Virtuosity has a History!

The original concept for the LOV began in San Antonio, Texas, in 2005. The intention was to create an all-encompassing performing arts academy under one roof. One location where children ages 4 to 18 could study all of the performing arts together with their families and friends.

By 2007 Laralee had a precise business plan, outlined the criteria, departments, and curriculum. She had networked the concept to organizations all over San Antonio. So many wonderful people were on board! It was then she began to search for locations where she could make this dream into reality. In the meantime she began to introduce the Land Of Virtuosity to San Antonio in all manner of ways! Like the FIESTA FLAMBEAU PARADE!

Thanks to a huge amount of hard work and dedication, as well as the help of some Very Wonderful People, in December of 2009 the very first

Land Of Virtuosity location opened!

Word spread like wildfire and in no time the LOV was filled to the brim with excited students! It was just under 1,100 square feet.

By February of 2012 the

Land Of Virtuosity had way outgrown it's cozy first space in Alamo Heights, Texas, a lovely suburb of San Antonio. Luckily there was a fabulous woman who believed in the LOV and she had just purchased a building on Broadway, just a few miles away! The LOV moved into a building that was just under 2,000 square feet. So Many more students arrived and So Many more programs were introduced!

By the Fall of 2013 the

Land Of Virtuosity had arrived at a most Magnificent Location. A GORGEOUS historic Greek Revival Auditorium in downtown San Antonio, Texas. This location was almost 10,000 square feet and was shared with other like minded performances and events.

In January of 2014 an Amazing Opportunity presented itself for Laralee and many of the hardworking students in the Land Of Virtuosity. It was the opportunity to make a film. Many of the Acting Students at the LOV had been studying on-camera acting for a while and were ready for the real thing. No one could have imagined that their little film would go on to win multiple awards and send one of the actors to Universal Studios in Los Angeles, with a nomination for Best Actress in an Independent Film!

Since the Spring of 2014 the Land Of Virtuosity has been on hiatus. From 2014 to 2016 Half of Twenty Two toured the US and parts of Europe, winning awards along the way.  The success of the film offered Laralee opportunities to work on other films and documentaries, which she has been involved in since 2016.

NOW...there is a whole new generation of students who deserve to enjoy the wonderful opportunities the Land Of Virtuosity has to offer. Right here in Portland, Texas! So that's where this story reignites. In the old days the Circus would bring the Magic to town...now get ready to make Magic at the LOV.
